Studio Variously LLC is proud to announce that we are certified as a Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the nation's leading third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women.

The WBENC Certification process has confirmed that our business is at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by a woman or women, and has the appropriate structure and strategic business planning and implementation in place.

By including women-owned businesses among their suppliers, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier diversity programs, which in turn empowers women as leaders and brings about a more diverse, balanced and sustainable economy.

All products are designed in Michigan. Current line of products include scarves, throws, blankets, bedspreads, rugs, pillows, journals, table ware textiles under our in-house trademarked brand Variously. All products are shipped from Michigan.

The artisans we work with in different parts of India and Nepal are vetted experts in their field , 3rd/4th generation master weavers, dyers whose skills and heritage stories need to be sustained. Majority  of our artisans are women who are involved in processes of hand spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing.

This allows for improvisation both in design and skill sets, which is also part of our sustainable  goals. For us, beauty lies in slow-made textiles that bring people & their cultural stories together. We are creating this one textile at a time.

Born and raised in India, Anjali pursued her design education from prestigious design schools like National Institute Of Fashion Technology ( NIFT ) , New Delhi,  India &  Nuova Academia Di Belle Arti ( NABA ) Italy.  

Anjali has worked for 20+ years for design studios, fashion brands, & exhibited in India, EU , USA in shows like Messe Frankfurt, Milan Fashion Week, International Tourism Show in Berlin and more recently at Shoppe Object & ICFF in NYC. 

Anjali  has advocated for artisan-based businesses & ethical wages at the United Nations during the Artisans Summit in 2016.  Anjali has earlier served as the Board Of Directors of Fashion Revolution USA  and has volunteered for Fashion Revolution / Michigan chapter to educate about ethical practices in fashion.

She has  taught subjects like Textile Design, Costume History as an Adjunct Professor at Wayne State University, Detroit. Anjali is also recipient to awards like IDA ( International Design Awards ) in multiple categories. In 2019 she was also chosen as the Artist in Residence at Eileen Fisher / Michigan store.
