Environmental, Social, Governance Performance: Sustainability Goals
> Collaborative, Vetted & Ethical Supply Chain
Backed with years of research, on site visits, daily correspondence, Variously chooses to only work with vetted artisan partners currently based in India, Nepal and Peru. We began with just 6 artisans, but over time, our fair trade partnerships have grown to include over 40 skilled handloom weavers, hand dyeing experts, and hand embroiderers.
> Commitment to Timelessness Over Short-Lived Trends
In line with our sustainability commitment, our designs are crafted through high-quality, small-batch production, promoting responsible and sustainable development using heritage techniques. As a result of this initiative, we encourage pre-orders to ensure timeless quality over short-lived trends. Through this practice, we strive to ensure the impact of our business is a positive one on both society and the environment.
> Sustainable Practices & Materials
Studio Variously is committed to sustainable practices that are mindful of the positive impacts on the environment and contribute to long-term, sustainable development. Our suppliers ensure that all materials & processes are tracked to its source. During the manufacturing process, we explore environmentally conscious techniques, such as natural dyeing methods, and only use breathable materials instead of harmful, petro-chemical based materials like polyester and acrylic. We have a social responsibility to enforce the obtaining of certifications.
> Hand Workers Economy Rooted in Heritage
Variously values ancient cultural stories that reflect in our textiles. Each piece is connected to the roots of the artisan community it originates from. We retain the use of heritage tools and processes, honoring time-tested methods that value artisans' traditional approaches in creation, omitting any shortcuts possible.
If it's here, it has gone through its cycle of creation through the wisdom of artisan communities who are involved in ensuring the quality of each piece that is finished and checked thoroughly.
> Quality Over Quantity
We are not striving for cookie cutter design or production values. But rather ensure each batch has gone through rigorous quality check. Our techniques are rooted in heritage but relevant to current industry requirements & strict compliance , with connection to craft, care and artisanal excellence.
